Business Support Administrator Apprentice

Location: Northampton   

Hours of work: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday 

Salary: £18,200

BACKGROUND 

Northampton Saints Rugby Football Club was formed in 1880, when Reverend Samuel Wathen Wigg identified rugby as a way to channel the energies of some of the county’s more troubled youngsters. More than 140 years on, Northampton Saints Foundation continues his legacy, using the power of sport and the values of rugby to INSPIRE, SUPPORT and EDUCATE thousands of people each year. Our education and social inclusion programmes inspire the current generation to learn, develop new skills, increase confidence and where appropriate return to education, training or employment. 

ROLE   

As Business Support Administrator Apprentice at Northampton Saints Foundation you will be responsible for helping the Foundation run effectively by providing a support service to all departments. 

The Administration role will be responsible for a range of administrative, financial and IT tasks supporting different departments throughout the Foundation. Administration duties include all regular office-based administration, call management and maintenance of the CRM database – Salesforce.  

The successful candidate will be honest, hardworking, and willing to go above and beyond within their work. They will be respectful and understanding of the Foundation’s work. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES   

  • Complete a breadth of daily administration tasks across a number of departments: data collation, invoicing coordination, room booking management, minute-taking, maintaining stock lists and ordering office supplies as needed. 
  • Assisting the Finance team with administration duties, such as chasing invoices.  
  • Assisting Foundation Team in planning and arranging events and activities across all programmes. 
  • Contacting and liaising with Foundation partners, including companies, schools and colleges to promote and book Foundation activities utilising Salesforce. 
  • Undertaking specific projects as requested by the Head of Support Services / Foundation Team  
  • Ordering, organising and managing equipment, furniture, IT etc.  
  • HR support and administration including completing right to work checks and booking training. 
  • Monitor and maintain admin inbox, liasing with appropriate departments to respond to requests. 
  • Liaise with IT to order equipment and resolve IT issues that arise. 
  • Scheduling appropriate meeting times, booking rooms and planning refreshments for meetings and events. 
  • Company vehicle fleet administration, making bookings with garages and keeping accurate records. 
  • Support with marketing administrative tasks. 
  • Input and extract data to/from CRM system. 
  • Support departments with producing, updating and formatting company documents  
  • Attending staff meetings and training when required

  • Must have good attention to detail and the ability to follow procedures.   

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office 

  • Ability to learn new IT systems.

This apprenticeship is part-funded and supported by Coach Core's charitable programme, creating employment opportunities for 16–24-year-olds who have faced barriers to education, employment, or career progression. They support young people with the potential to succeed who may have experienced financial disadvantage, additional learning needs, caring responsibilities or other personal or socio-economic challenges. No previous experience is required – we're looking for enthusiasm, potential and a willingness to learn. Coach Core provides additional support throughout the apprenticeship, while the Foundation is responsible for the final recruitment decision.
