Foundation launches powerful new impact video

Northampton Saints Foundation has released a new impact video, featuring ambassadors Tom Wood and Ethan Waller, capturing the human stories behind the charity’s work and the challenges faced by young people and the community across Northamptonshire and beyond.

The video focuses on why many young people disengage from education and support services, not through lack of ambition, but because they are navigating systems that are overstretched and not designed to meet their needs.

“When young people slip through the cracks of our education system, it’s rarely because they’ve chosen to give up,” the video explains. “They’re often navigating a system that isn’t built for them - with limited support, unmet needs, and mental health services pushed to their limits.”

Through powerful messaging and lived experiences from Jack, one for the Foundation’s Employability students who shares his story, the film highlights how disengagement can lead to isolation, rising anxiety, and, for some, involvement with the criminal justice system when support disappears.

Northampton Saints Foundation works to change that trajectory. Using the power of sport and the values of rugby, the Foundation creates opportunities for personal growth, improved wellbeing, and a sense of belonging.

Jordan Letts, CEO of Northampton Saints Foundation, said “Since we last filmed an impact video in 2021–2022, so much has changed at the Foundation. We’ve developed new programmes, built new partnerships, and grown significantly in response to demand, as more young people and communities need our support. We’re incredibly proud of how far we’ve come across our education, social inclusion, employability, specialist services, and heritage departments, supporting people of all ages across the community. As we look ahead, our focus remains on expanding our reach, deepening our impact, and creating even more opportunities for people to thrive.”

The Foundation would like to thank WHP, who led the filming and editing of the video, and Fern Media for their support with filming, helping bring these stories to life with care and authenticity. Special thanks also go Jack for sharing his story, to Arthur for being our main character within the video and to Northampton School and its drama students, whose involvement helped bring authenticity to the film.

The impact video sits alongside the Foundation’s 2024/2025 Impact and Social Value report which is due to be released this week.
