Founder 15

Become a Founder 15 member and help us change the lives of young people in Northamptonshire.

We are looking for businesses who are seeking a long-term (three year) charity partnership, delivering a real difference here in Northamptonshire to young lives – changing futures and supporting the local community.

Our Social Inclusion and Education departments work with young people aged 9-19, using the ethos of Northampton Saints and the power of sport to Inspire, Support and Educate them. We want you to join us, by helping to fund our programmes.

Our Work

Our Education Programme is delivered across a variety of locations and age groups.

Our Premiership Rugby Champions programme is broken into three key areas – Tackling Character, Tackling Health and Tackling Numeracy. We firmly believe that Champions are built, not born, and this starts at primary school. Using the power of rugby to inspire the current generation to learn, we want pupils to be active and discover their inner champion to help grow their self-esteem, raise their aspirations, and achieve their potential.

Our Values Programme focusses on Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline and Sportsmanship – the values of rugby. This is a bespoke programme, and we work with individual schools to offer a tailored programme dependant on the school’s specific needs.

Our Social Inclusion Programmes work with students who are struggling in, or have already been excluded from, mainstream education. More often than not, these young people come from disadvantaged backgrounds and have had poor life experiences. The referrals to our programmes come from a range of departments within the Education, Social Care and Police arena – including Special Educational Needs, Education & Inclusion, Social Workers and the Police Community Initiative to Reduce Violence.

Our programmes use practical and classroom-based activities to empower these young people, increase their confidence and provide them with the skills to improve their life chances. Our aim is that each of our students has a better future, enabling them to make better life choices and you could be part of that journey.

How can you help?

We are asking for a three-year partnership deal, with an annual donation of £5,000 to support the work of Northampton Saints Foundation. This will make a huge difference to the lives of local young people, ultimately reducing the number of NEET’s (not in education, employment or training) and importantly reducing instances of anti-social behaviour, crime and gang membership.

In return for your financial support, we can offer you:

  • A clear pathway to fulfil your business’ social responsibility objectives
  • Opportunities for your staff to volunteer on the programme with us
  • Regular updates on the programme and the progression of our students
  • Two free places at our annual dinner with our Foundation Player Ambassadors
  • Two free places at each of our Founder 15 Coaching Skills & Leadership Skills Workshops, delivered by our Volunteer Leadership & Development Consultants Doug Ferguson & Mel Hayward
  • Framed, signed Northampton Shirt (first season)
  • Use of our Foundation logo
  • One player appearance (terms and conditions apply)

We are incredibly grateful for the support of our Founder 15 partners; it helps us to change lives and create positive futures.

Case Study – Sami

“I don’t know where I would be without the support of Northampton Saints Foundation; we’ve been on a full journey together and I am extremely proud. I found them, and they found me.”

Sami, age 17

Sami began working with us aged 15, when he was at risk of permanent exclusion from Education. He had a severe lack of confidence and self-esteem, and was caring for a sibling who was living in neglectful accommodation.

As a result of working with Northampton Saints Foundation, Sami completed a BTEC, passed his L2 Maths and English, achieved a CSCS card and now works in the construction industry.
