Engage Plus, in Partnership with Northampton College, is a programme designed to support young individuals who require additional learning support or are at risk of not being in education, employment or training (NEET).
The programme was founded in October 2017 with the support of Always a Chance charity targeting Northampton College students with the aim of increasing self-esteem, self-awareness and improving their employability skills.
Engage plus provides young persons aged 16 - 18 the opportunity to study within an adaptable and safe learning environment ensuring a holistic approach where excellent work experience and enrichment opportunities encourage personal development. Due to the programmes holistic approach, a balance of practical and classroom-based learning activities are embedded to empower students in making positive life choices. The Engage Plus teaching team have over 10 years of experience in supporting learners with challenging behavioural and educational attainment issues. Through this experience, the team are able to be resilient, apply a tailored approach and ensure stability in the aims of achieving positive progressions for all learners involved in the programme.
How Engage Plus works?

Additional to the course content the students have fantastic work experience and enrichment opportunities due to Northampton Saints Foundation working with excellent business partners locally and nationally.
Northampton Saints Foundation Awards Ceremony
The Student Awards, held at the end of the academic year, are an incredibly important and special event in the Foundation’s annual calendar to celebrate the achievements of its students. Each year Engage students are nominated by their tutors to win the Foundation Values Awards, Progression Award, Student Achievement Awards.

"There is such a need for a good alternative provision for students who cannot manage in school. There are not enough provisions in the town which can compare to Engage and the work they do for young people who are in need of this support."Sally Knight, SEND Northamptonshire
