Safeguarding and policies

Northampton Saints Foundation takes safeguarding very seriously, the safety and welfare of the young people in our care and our staff is of the utmost importance.

As part of our recruitment process, we ensure all our staff and regular volunteers undertake an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring service check with staff undergoing further references, Section 128 and regular driving licence checks.

All staff members complete mandatory safeguarding training and additional ongoing training to ensure they can carry out their roles to the highest standards which is monitored and kept up to date regularly.

We work with all our partners and service providers to ensure safeguarding is the highest priority including Rugby Football Union (RFU) and the NSPCC as well as Local Authority Safeguarding Boards across our delivery areas to ensure the best possible practice across our programmes.

We are committed to taking reasonable action to ensure the safety and welfare of everyone that uses Northampton Saints Foundation. We expect all staff, volunteers and partners to share the Foundation’s mission and commitment to keeping any child, young person or adult safe and have a responsibility to be vigilant and report any concerns about the welfare of an individual.

Where we have a reason to be concerned for the welfare of an individual, we will follow the Foundation’s Safeguarding and Child Protection policy, work with our safeguarding leads and inform the relevant safeguarding board of our concern.
