Fleckney set for another World Record challenge in support of Saints Foundation

Jack Fleckney thrives off a challenge, however he is training to face his hardest test yet. He aims to break a World Record, completing the most chin-ups in 24 hours, all in aid of Northampton Saints Foundation.

The event, set for 12-13 June, will see Jack put months of training to work as he aims to complete 5,500 chin-ups in 24 hours. Not only will this be a physical challenge for his arms, shoulders, and core muscles – it will take a massive mental effort for him to sustain his efforts through the night.

Jack has set himself a massive target of raising £100,000 to provide increased classroom space at Franklin’s Gardens, enabling the Foundation to accommodate and support more vulnerable young people from across Northamptonshire on our Engage programme.

The Engage programme which works with students aged between 10-16 who are struggling in, or are excluded from, mainstream education. It is an advanced inclusion programme offering on-site learning, and on and off-site activities to improve health, welfare, wellbeing and relationship building.

Jack has been spending the last six months preparing for the event with strength and cardio sessions to prepare him, and has recently launched his own Foundation and coffee blend with The Roastery. Some of you may recognise Jack from his exercise videos which were part of our virtual education programmes during lockdown.

“I have been lucky that my journey to this point has given me so much experience,” he said. “From facing learning and speech difficulties at school, my life has largely been built around challenge, facing them with everything I have got.

“I want to use all my life experiences and physical ability to help people less fortunate than myself. Putting myself in vulnerable positions, in high-risk, physically demanding environments.”
