Reports to:  Marketing & Communications Lead  
Location: cinch stadium at Franklin’s Gardens 
Contract type: Volunteer (unpaid)
Hours: Part-time; 10-12 hours per week

BACKGROUND 

Northampton Saints Rugby Football Club was formed in 1880, when Reverend Samuel Wathen Wigg identified rugby as a way to channel the energies of some of the county’s more troubled youngsters. More than 140 years on, Northampton Saints Foundation continues his legacy, using the power of sport and the values of rugby to INSPIRE, SUPPORT and EDUCATE thousands of people each year. Our education and social inclusion programmes inspire the current generation to learn, develop new skills, increase confidence and where appropriate return to education, training or employment. 

OVERVIEW

Northampton Saints Foundation are delighted to be offering the opportunity for a talented digital content editor to join our Marketing & Communications Team. Ideal for somebody studying in Marketing and looking to gain work experience

This is an exciting position for a creative individual to help elevate the Foundation’s digital content output across all online platforms, engaging both new and existing followers.

The ideal candidate will have exceptional technical knowledge and execution, as well as a keen eye for features that will inspire clients and sponsors to support the work of the Foundation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Writing and designing copy for website / social media posts and captions
  • Moderating social media channels
  • Responding to customer feedback and maintaining communications online
  • Creating social media campaigns to increase engagement and target new audiences
  • Creating graphic and visual content for dissemination on social media pages
  • Carrying out research for team projects, trends and news stories
  • Sharing related content from partners and organisations with their social media audience
  • Analysing social media numbers regularly
  • Preparing periodic reports for review by a supervisor

THE SUITABLE CANDIDATE WILL

  • Have/ working towards qualifications or experience in Digital Marketing or other relevant subject
  • Have experience creating high quality digital content
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Have good interpersonal skills
  • Be comfortable asking questions and directing subjects
  • Have an in-depth understanding of social media platforms and scheduling tools
  • Have an understanding of how to tailor content to individual platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube)
  • Have the ability to self-organise and work to tight deadlines
  • Have a full driving license and ability to travel is desirable
