Match-day Volunteer

BACKGROUND

Northampton Saints Rugby Football Club was formed, in 1880, when Reverend Samuel Wathen Wigg identified rugby as a way to channel the energies of some of the county’s more troubled youngsters. More than 140 years on, Northampton Saints Foundation continues his legacy, using the power of sport and the values of rugby to INSPIRE, SUPPORT and EDUCATE thousands of people each year. Our education and social inclusion programmes inspire the current generation to learn, develop new skills, increase confidence and where appropriate return to education, training or employment.

ROLE

As a match-day volunteer, you will be supporting our small fundraising team to raise vital funds to enable the Foundation to continue their work with young people across Northamptonshire, Milton Keynes, Ipswich and Corby.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

At each Northampton Saints home game, we have a match-day raffle, which is co-ordinated from our Northampton Saints Foundation table located within the Rodber bar. Raffle tickets are sold both pre and post game, with the raffle drawn around 40 mins after the final whistle. Volunteers work in pairs within the bars and fan village selling raffle tickets to supporters. Foundation t-shirts or high vis jackets are provided so it is clear you are helping to raise funds for the Foundation.

Training will be provided on the day. Raffle ticket seller volunteers are needed at the stadium one hour before kick-off, and up to one hour after the game finishes. (On a normal 3pm weekend kick-off this means from 2pm until 5:30pm). You are not expected to work every home game, but we would ask that volunteers commit to a minimum of 3 games per season.

BENEFITS

Match-day volunteers are provided with a free ticket for the match, if needed and you will be able to watch the game in between selling tickets.
