Saints Foundation & Portman Asset Finance supporting Northampton Hope Centre this Christmas

Northampton Saints Foundation have teamed up with local company Portman Asset Finance to help homeless people in Northampton this Christmas.

On the 18th of December, representatives from the Foundation [and Saints players] will be delivering 100 care packages to the Northampton Hope Centre – a charity that tackles poverty and homelessness in the region.

"Particularly at Christmas, we want to help those who are struggling."

The care packages contain a few essential items needed by homeless people in the cold weather, such as hot water bottles, toothbrushes, toothpaste, socks, hats and gloves, and have kindly been funded by Portman Asset Finance.

Saints Foundation was set up earlier this year with the aim of using the values of Northampton RFC and the power of sport to educate, inspire and support local communities – and social inclusion manager Jordan Letts is delighted to have launched this festive project.

“The Saints Foundation is desperate to do all we can to support people in our community all year round, but particularly at Christmas we want to help those who are struggling,” he said.

“We’re so grateful to Rory Dunn and everyone at Portman Asset Finance for getting behind another one of our initiatives after they named us their charity of the year – we couldn’t have put so many care packages together without their help.

“MK Dons Sport and Education Trust have also donated to this project, and we’re excited to team up with them for the first time.”

Rory Dunn, sales director at Portman Asset Finance, added: “We’re as excited as ever to be supporting the Saints Foundation and the vital work they do all over Northampton.

“Christmas is a time to offer a helping hand to those less fortunate than ourselves, and Portman is proud to assist the local community by working with such an inspirational organisation.”
