Aspire

Aspire, in partnership with Northampton College, is a programme designed to support young individuals with the key skills and qualifications they need to create a positive pathway.

The Aspire programme is ideal for young people, aged 16-19, who are looking to gain their City & Guilds Level 1 and 2 Award in Employability Skills, whilst gaining their Maths and English GCSE's at Northampton College.

The aim of the course is to develop and strengthen core employability skills through a curriculum specifically designed to prepare learners for the world of work. Offing a balance of interactive sessions, group work and theory-based lessons, the units taught onsite at cinch Stadium at Franklin's Gardens provide a broad range of understanding to also support reintegration into full time college settings and ensure the department is tackling figures of NEET (Not in Education, Employment and Training).

Over the course of the academic year, students will have the opportunity to take part in a range of enrichment and work experience opportunities through the Foundation's ‘Journey to work’ model. The Foundation partner with several organisations and supporters to embed a diverse range of workshops which support personal and social development alongside giving awareness of many industries and sectors. Working to tackle national skills gaps, the model also incorporates onsite flavour days, and key intervention based on recruitment.

The programme provides a holistic approach to learning with students based at both the Foundation and Northampton College’s Lower Mounts campus.
