School Employability Programme

A new School Employability Programme has been introduced to support students in Year 10 and Year 11 as they prepare for their next steps beyond secondary education.

The six-week programme is specifically designed to equip learners with the essential knowledge, practical skills, and real-world experiences needed to progress confidently into higher education, apprenticeships, or direct employment.

Throughout the course, students will develop key employability competencies that are highly valued by employers and further education providers. These include CV and cover letter writing, interview techniques, workplace professionalism, and long-term career planning. The programme also focuses on building confidence and encouraging students to reflect on their strengths, interests, and future ambitions.

By combining practical guidance with skills-based learning, the programme aims to significantly increase employability readiness among participants. It is also intended to support personal development, helping students feel more prepared for the expectations of the workplace and post-school pathways.

By the end of the programme, students will have a stronger understanding of career options available to them, as well as the tools needed to successfully take their next steps.

Overall, the Employability Programme aims to lay a strong foundation for future success, ensuring that students leave school with greater confidence, clearer direction, and improved readiness for work or further study.
