Sensory Boost

Our Sensory Boost programme combines the excitement of an active trampoline session at Flip Out, Rushden Lakes with calming and engaging sensory exploration. This unique balance of high-energy activity and structured sensory input helps pupils to regulate their emotions, improve concentration, and strengthen the skills they need to thrive both in school and beyond.

Sensory-based learning is proven to:

  • Boost cognitive development by stimulating the brain, improving focus, and supporting memory and processing skills
  • Promote emotional regulation through calming, rhythmic activities that reduce stress and anxiety
  • Encourage social connection as pupils cooperate, share, and communicate in interactive settings
  • Develop motor coordination by integrating movement with sensory feedback, improving handwriting and classroom readiness
  • Support resilience and confidence as pupils explore new activities in a safe, structured environment

The programme is designed to help learners develop essential personal and social skills. It supports self-regulation by enabling participants to manage their thoughts, feelings, and behaviours effectively, while promoting self-awareness through recognising emotions and understanding their impact on others. Learners also enhance their communication skills, improving how they express themselves and interact with peers. In addition, the programme builds confidence and independence, encouraging self-esteem and informed decision-making.

The sessions are delivered flexibly to suit individual school needs and are suitable for all ages, with adaptations available for specific learning requirements. The recommended group size is between six and twelve participants, though this can be adjusted upon request. Refreshments are provided, and each pupil receives a pair of trampoline socks to ensure safe participation.

By embedding sensory activities into learning, Sensory Boost helps schools address barriers to engagement and learning. Pupils return to the classroom calmer, more focused, and more confident, leading to improved behaviour, stronger relationships, and increased readiness to learn.
