The Northampton Saints Foundation is delighted to announce the appointment of new education lead Liam Welch.
Welch brings a wealth of experience to the role, having previously worked in the education and coaching sector.
“Liam’s appointment allows us to restart our support to schools within Northamptonshire and offer key education programmes, covering important issues to our young people.”
Catherine Deans, Managing Director
He will be tasked with relaunching the Saints Foundation’s education programmes for schools and education facilities, focusing on physical health and emotional wellbeing. A broad range of programmes are being developed that can be delivered both in schools and incorporating the opportunity to visit Franklin’s Gardens.
Welch will also be working on programmes to support reintegration of young people who have been removed from mainstream education and he will play a key role in relaunching the free Mobbs’ Own history sessions for schools.
It is a pivotal position at the Saints Foundation, which uses the power of sport and the values of rugby to drive positive change in young people.
And Saints Foundation managing director Catherine Deans is happy to add Welch to the team.
Deans said: “Having an Education Lead is extremely important for the Foundation.
“It allows us to support schools within Northamptonshire and deliver programmes that enhance the curriculum, covering important aspects of life to the young people.”
