Lycetts charity golf day raises over £1,000

Insurance broker Lycetts raises more than £1,000, helping to provide more opportunities for young people on the Foundation's education and social inclusion programmes.

Sponsored and hosted by Lycetts, the charity event gathered local businesses and individuals for a game of golf at Northamptonshire County Golf Course. Among those taking part was Foundation ambassador and Northampton Saints fly half, James Grayson who was part of the winning team.

Callum Holland, of Lycetts’ Pitsford office, said: “We raised money from donations, a raffle for a Fortnum and Masons hamper and a signed Saints rugby ball, which, with match-funding from Lycetts’ parent company, Benefact Group, totalled £1,040".

"It was great to support such a worthy cause and due to its success, we intend to make it an annual event.”

So far during the 22/23 academic year, over 4,500 young people have accessed the Foundation's programmes, with an aim to reach 6,000 by the end of September.

Gemma Shields, Business Support Officer at Northampton Saints Foundation said “We're grateful to all of the teams that took part, raising a fantastic amount of money. The Foundation continues to be a place where anyone can achieve great things, using the power of sport and the values of rugby to inspire the current generation to learn, develop new skills, increase confidence and where appropriate return to education, training or employment. We couldn't help as many young people we do, without the support of fundraisers and companies like Lycetts."
