Charity golf day and gala raises over £15,000

Approved Business Finance, long term charity partner of Northampton Saints Foundation, have continued their strong relationship by holding a fundraising golf day and gala dinner. 

As one of the fastest growing finance brokerages in the UK, Approved Business Finance has more than 30 years of experience in the business finance arena and prides itself on understanding the need for business owners to get faster finance solutions. 

Over the last two years the team have taken part in a number of activities to raise money and give their continued support for the Foundation by putting their endurance to the test in a Tough Mudder race, volunteered on matchdays , sponsored events and supported young people during their sessions. 

As keen golfers, the finance company invited 18 teams to join the Foundation’s Ambassador James Grayson and Northampton Saints wing Tom Collins, for a golf day at Collingtree Park Golf Club. With the sun shining the teams competed for the longest drive, closest to the pin and best team, crowned golf champions of the day, a prize which Hampshire Trust Bank were thrilled to receive.  

In the evening, celebrations continued with a dinner at cinch Stadium at Franklin’s Gardens hosted by former rugby player Christian Day. Catherine Deans, Managing Director at Northampton Saints Foundation took to the stage to welcome guests, followed by and emotional piece from Lorna Beard who shared the journey of her son, Harry, who attended the Foundation’s Engage programme between 2021-2022 and has witnessed first-hand how the Foundation can improve the wellbeing and mental health of young people. 

With a three-course meal in full swing, Northampton Saints prop, Ethan Waller hosted an auction with prizes including, a Northampton Saints Hospitality experience's, a stay at Flore House, signed Saints memorabilia and a week's stay in an apartment in Spain which raised important funds. 

The Foundation would like to thank attendees for their incredible generosity, the funds raised throughout the day will allow the Foundation to continue to create an infrastructure of skills, people, resources and facilities which means they can continue to help changes the lives of young people through their education and social inclusion programmes.
