Kilimanjaro Virtual Challenge 2026

Virtual Kilimanjaro Challenge

Climb Kilimanjaro. Wherever you are.

This September, take on Africa’s highest mountain without needing to board a flight to Tanzania.

Walk, run, hike, cycle or swim your way to the summit of Kilimanjaro as an individual or as part of a team. While our in-person challenge team tackles the mountain for real, you’ll complete your own virtual journey alongside them.

Every kilometre you complete will take you closer to the summit, and every pound you raise will help Northampton Saints Foundation inspire, support and educate young people across Northamptonshire and Milton Keynes.

Whether you’re looking for a personal fitness goal, a team-building challenge or a memorable way to support a local charity, this is your chance to do something extraordinary.

Registration is now open, and the challenge will run throughout September.

Sign up today, choose how you’ll complete the distance and start building your team.

How it works

1. Secure your place

Register for just £15 and you’ll receive your official Virtual Kilimanjaro Challenge T-shirt.

Taking part with friends, family or colleagues? Create your own fundraising team or join one that has already been set up.

Please make sure everyone uses the same team name when registering so your group’s fundraising and progress are counted together.

2. Create your fundraising page

You’ll receive your own personal fundraising page to share with friends, family and colleagues.

It’s the easiest way to collect sponsorship and keep everyone updated on your progress. Eligible UK donations can also benefit from Gift Aid, increasing their value at no extra cost to your supporters.

3. Track every kilometre

Connect your Strava account and your activities will be added to your fundraising page automatically.

Not using Strava? No problem. Simply log in to your fundraising page, select Add an Activity, enter your distance and remember to save it.

Walk, run, hike, cycle or swim—the choice is yours.

4. Follow the Kilimanjaro route

As you complete the distance, you’ll receive milestone emails based on the real Kilimanjaro route being followed by our in-person team.

You’ll discover where you would be on the mountain, how far you’ve climbed and what lies ahead on your journey to the summit.

5. Reach the summit

Complete the full challenge distance and raise at least £150 by 23:59 on 30 September to earn your official Virtual Kilimanjaro finisher’s medal.

Your medal and participant T-shirt will be sent to you in the post as a lasting reminder of everything you have achieved.
