National Apprenticeship Week is an annual week-long celebration to celebrate and promote the fantastic benefits which Apprenticeships offer both learner and employers and to share success stories.
Northampton Saints Foundation welcomed four amazing companies during the week-long celebration, Aldi, St Andrews, Colonial Construction and Travis Perkins to INSPIRE, SUPPORT and MOTIVATE our young people and to build important connections for their future.
National Apprenticeship Week began with a career talk from Aldi looking at opportunities Aldi have alongside the two-year employment pathway of working towards management. Area Manager Charlotte Gregg was joined by former HITZ student Courtney, who now works full time for Aldi, providing an inspiration to our current students and demonstrated to our students how HITZ creates a positive progression and opportunities.
Next, the Foundation welcomed REDS Recovery College which is a service for St Andrews patients, carers and staff to help improve their health and wellbeing, gaining positive feelings about today and confidence in the future. Jon Crane and Anisa Amoako from REDS delivered a workshop to Foundation students called Finding Hope giving students a chance to reflect on their achievements to date and to educate and empower them. During the workshop they looked at what is hope, why is hope important and drew from their personal experiences.
Delving into a different industry Matt Bridge from Colonial Construction created awareness and knowledge of Apprenticeships in general and within the construction sector. Students explored the roles that completed the construction industry ranging from quantity surveyors to bricklayers and how they reach out to all abilities and genders.
To round off the week Travis Perkins Lead Kickstart Coach Harriet Gameson and Malgorzata Cichowska Gosia, Kickstart coach, gave students a talk on Apprenticeships at Travis Perkins and team building activities bringing a fantastic week to a close.
We’d like to thank all of the companies for visiting during the week and providing a fantastic insight into their companies and creating opportunities for our students.
